What Kind of Trips do you offer?

Typical charters are:

  • Half Day
  • Full Day
  • Swordfishing

However, we can accommodate specialty trips, as well as Corporate Charters, and Maritime closings.

What is required to book a trip?

The specific date you would like to reserve, any special requests, as well as a deposit for your trip.

What is our departure/return time?

Departure times are flexible, based on the charter you book. Your captain will work with you to determine a convenient departure and return time for you.

What should we bring on the charter?

Top Gun Charters will include fishing licenses, tackle, bait, and ice for your trip. You should consider the following:

  • Sunscreen – recommended to apply 1 hour before boarding and reapply as needed.
  • Sunglasses – Polarized Lenses are best for fishing
  • Hat-Visors tend to not fly away
  • Shoes – Preferably non-marking white soles, that can get wet
  • Food and Drink – We have a cooler or refrigerator to accommodate your items. If you would like to have food and refreshments included, we can do so at an additional cost.
  • Camera and film
  • Rain Gear
  • Long Sleeve T Shirts for additional sun protection.
  • Seasickness medication (non-drowsy) if you are prone to seasickness. (Please consult your physician)

What can we not bring on the charter?

Please do not bring: Illegal drugs, contraband or GPS/Loran type devices.

Do I need a cooler?

We will accommodate your drinks and food in our coolers on board, however you may want to have a cooler in your vehicle, to take home your catch (we will be happy to provide ice for your cooler).

What is the best way to avoid seasickness?

Take an over the counter motion sickness medication the evening prior, and the morning of the charter (Please consult your physician). Also:

  • Do not overindulge the evening before the charter.
  • Get plenty of rest.

Do I need a fishing license?

Top Gun Charters is a USCG certified Charter vessel, and therefore you are not required to have a fishing license to fish aboard the Top Gun.

What is your cancellation policy?

Weather Cancellations: Your safety is our main concern, we monitor all marine weather and local forecasts. If the weather is not safe for fishing, we will happily return your deposit. If the weather conditions are safe for fishing, deposits will not be returned.

Any other Cancellations: If you cancel no less than 7 days before your booked charter, we will happily return your deposit.

If we cancel for any reason – all deposits will be returned to you within 7 days.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards. We will accept checks on pre-paid charters if paid 7 days prior to the charter. You may make checks payable to: Top Gun Charters, Inc.

How can we mount our catch?

We offer mounting services through Gray’s Taxidermy. Just let us know so we can take proper measurements of your catch, and submit the order for you.

*Please note: We highly encourage catch and release of Sailfish and Marlin. We do not need to kill these fish to have them mounted.
